What is a 60 second presentation?
One of the key parts of every BNI meeting is the ‘60 seconds’. This is where each member (and visitor) has 60 seconds to tell everyone about their business and most importantly, say what type of referral they are looking for that week.
Everyone has their own individual way of doing the 60 seconds, but if you get it right it is a great way of catching people’s attention for your business. It can strike a chord with your fellow members - and make them immediately think of a business referral they can give you.
So here are a few guidelines for the key areas your 60 seconds should meet:
Section 1: Introduction (18 seconds)
Your name, position and company name and what kind of business or clients you currently have.
Section 2. Tell a Story (20 Seconds)
What makes you different from your competition? Share a specific, recent story that exemplifies what makes you different
Section 3. Ask for the Business (10 Seconds).
Say “A good referral for me is….” (be very specific)
Section 4. Call to Action (5 Seconds)
“So if you see/hear/know of please give him/her my card.”
Section 5. Memory Hook (7 Seconds)
After you say your Memory Hook, conclude with your name and company.
