Smethurst and Buckton Accountants were established in 1946.  Our aim is to provide a high-quality professional service, with a personal, friendly approach. Accountancy and Business Advice
We can help in a number of ways, including the preparation of meaningful management information. We provide general business advice based upon many years' experience and we are also regulated to advise on a range of investment business activities.

New Business
We advise on all aspects of business start-up, to include consideration of whether the business format should be a limited company, sole trader or partnership. We also advise and assist with sources of finance, the compilation of business plans, company formation, registration with HM Revenue and Customs, and set-up of PAYE, CIS and VAT schemes.

Audit
We are registered auditors, authorised and regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. In addition to statutory audits, we also provide specialist services which include the audit of charity accounts, social clubs and associations and accounts requiring auditing by the Financial Services Authority.

Records
We offer ongoing administration support in the form of record-keeping, payroll, VAT returns and CIS services, either by processing the information ourselves or advising and training our clients to do so.

Taxation
We provide both compliance and tax planning services, together with the traditional completion of returns. Areas covered include personal tax, corporate tax, value added tax, PAYE, CIS tax, national insurance, inheritance tax, capital gains tax and tax credits.
